We depart from Boise on January 7th and will arrive in Wellington on January 9th. From Wellington, we will take a ferry across Cook Strait to the town of Picton, and then a water taxi from Picton to Ship’s Cove, where we will begin our journey. We believe it is safe and realistic to expect to travel an average of 20km per day, reaching Invercargill, the southernmost tip of the south island, around March 15th. From Invercargill we will fly to Auckland, then take a shuttle to Cape Reinga, the northernmost tip of the North island. We will then complete the second half of the Te Araroa, expecting to finish in Wellington around June 23rd. We will then spend a week in Fiji, and get back to the States on June 30th.
